The Yucca frosted tumbler stands 6-1/2 inches tall. It reads "Arizona Yucca Cactus". It is just one of eight tumblers that were produced, each featuring a different cactus. These tumblers served as give-a-way promos from the Blakely Gas Stations that were in many cities throughout Arizona in the 1950s and 60s. Read more about Blakely below. ABOUT BLAKELY GAS STATIONS:
Blakely was a company that had gas stations all over Arizona in the 1950s and 60s. The china, stoneware, tumblers and glasses were a premium give-away with the purchase of gas or other items. The most popular were the frosted tumblers. A full set consisted of 8 different designs: Prickly Pear, Organ Pipe, Century Plant, Saguaro, Ocotillo, Barrel, Yucca, and Cholla. All pieces were obtained individually, but one could build sets. The deluxe beverage set consisted of the 8 tumblers, a water pitcher and a wooden carry tray. They also produced a smaller set with clear glasses, a juice set, china and stoneware dishes with many serving pieces to go with.
