We have two of these space-age chairs at the moment. Each chair swivels on a metal pedestal base. The upper section of each chair (the arms and back) is made of Lucite that wraps around the back and sides. An upholstered seat is mounted to the bottom of each Lucite section. Each chair is double cushioned, with the top cushion being removable. This makes for a very soft and comfortable seat. The cushions have been recovered, a few years back, in a durable nubby black material. In addition, the upper cushions have a pattern on one side. The pattern is a reproduction Barkcloth with a "starburst" design similar to the famous Francisican Starburst dinnerware that was so popular in the 1950s and 60s. The white paint, on the pedestals, is all original and in very good condition. The rims of the bases all show some small amounts of paint flecking from years of use. These are very minor and do not distract from the beauty of the chair. The cushions are all in wonderful condition (no rips or tears). The rest of the Lucite shows only minor light polishing scratches that are so typical of vintage Lucite. One must get the Lucite in the right light to even see most of these, as they are not real obvious. Each chair is 27 inches across, from arm to arm, and 20 inches high, from the floor to the top of the seat. Chairs are sold individually. Contact us for shipping rates and ordering information.
